Fred’s Forklifts was established on the 1st of November of 1990 in Vereeniging, Gauteng Province, South Africa.

The Company started as a partnership between Mr. Marius De Bruin (founder) and Mr. Beyers de Bruin and opened their rental offices in a town called Vereeniging, which is located in the center of the Vaal Triangle area. This decision has proven to be the correct one since the company grew at such an alarming rate that we decided to register it as a Close Corporation in 1997.

In the year 2000 the Company bought their own premises, which was ideally situated next to the busy R59 freeway to Johannesburg. Important distances to nearest cities: Johannesburg 75km; Vanderbijlpark 15km; Sasolburg 20km; Meyerton 15km. The premise’s layout was ideal for the forklift trade and it consists of the following:

The office block with reception area, reception office, 7 administration offices, 2 walk in safes, kitchen and ablutions – 600 square meters.

Adjoining office block are the parts sales offices and storerooms which carries the most makes and models forklift spares (in stock) – 450 square meters.

Double volume Workshops with 3 bays, constructed with steel columns, house several overhead cranes which make the repairs option on forklifts very easy and ideal for rebuilds. Overall under roof workshops of 2300 square meters and outside yard of 400 square meters gives us plenty area to expand our workshops and offices in years to come.
